Trip Overview
This one-day journey is designed for travelers who want to experience Machu Picchu but have limited time in the Cusco region. Your visit follows one of the official Machu Picchu Circuits, depending on the entrance ticket you purchased. After exploring the site, you will return to Aguas Calientes and then continue back to Cusco by train and private transport—an efficient, organized, and stress-free way to see one of the world’s most iconic landmarks in just one day.
Optional upgrades are available, such as climbing Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, both requiring permits booked in advance.

Your Day-by-Day Adventure
Your adventure begins early. A Path Finder Peru representative picks you up from your hotel in Cusco and drives you to the Ollantaytambo train station. From there, you board the train heading toward Aguas Calientes, a scenic route that follows the Vilcanota River and passes ancient terraces, Andean villages, and soaring mountain walls.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, your guide will meet you at the station and accompany you to the buses that wind their way up the mountain to the entrance of Machu Picchu.
After entering the citadel, you begin a guided visit of approximately three hours, exploring the most important temples, plazas, viewpoints, and architectural sectors. Depending on your assigned circuit, you may see areas such as the Guardian House, Intihuatana, Temple of the Sun, Sacred Plaza, or other major points of interest. Throughout the visit, you’ll also enjoy outstanding views of the surrounding valleys and agricultural terraces.
Once your guided tour is complete, you return by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have free time for lunch (not included). Later, you board the train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy. At the station, a driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco, concluding a rewarding and seamless day at the heart of the Andes.
